1.) Open Notepad and do not write anything in it. Just go to File > Save as (save it with the name: autorun.inf)

3.) Remove your drive.

    Its happening so because explorer is using your autorun.inf file. You need to disable it. Use Unlocker software to unlock the autorun.inf file after unlocking you can replace the file.

    I tried it but it is not copied to the pendrive.
    it gives the error message Cannot copy autorun.
    There is no other program running neither the pendrive is open.

    My PEN DRIVE is infected with AUTORUN.INF virus
    and it is hidden in pen drive and search for
    f:attrib autorun.inf -s -h -r but fail to find

    and i formated the whole PEN DRIVE but again it come back is their any software to remove this virus ,,,,,help needed

    when i unlock from Unlocker software the autorun.inf file.And when i re-insert it it then replaces the oringinal one we created and virus gets replaced by the file which we have created.

    To remove / delete the autorun.inf file from your drive
    Open the task manager
    Select the explorer.exe process & select End Process
    This will result in disappearing the desktop items.
    But do not worry.
    You will have a windows task manager window open
    GO TO File
    Select “New Task [Run]”
    Type” CMD”
    Command window will open type the command
    Del d:\autorun.inf [select the drive letter properly]
    Close the cmd
    GO TO File
    Select “New Task [Run]”
    Type” Explorer”
    Your desktop items will re-appear.
