How to Remove Rogue Anti-Spyware – Personal Deluxe Protector

June 30, 2009

Windows Security

Personal Deluxe Protector is another Rogue Anti-Spyware program – a fake spyware remover. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Personal Deluxe Protector can help you to remove it after you download the trial version.

Once inside and active, Personal Deluxe Protector proceeds to intimidate the user with fake registry scans, which produce bogus results and popups, which are annoying as hell and bear much the same message as the scans. It goes somewhere along the lines of “your computer is infected, buy Personal Deluxe Protector” or “your registry appears to contain entries that are a potential threat to the system”.

Personal Deluxe Protector is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your Hosts file.

How it is Dangerous:
1.) Personal Deluxe Protector is a corrupt Anti-Spyware program
2.) Personal Deluxe Protector may spread via Trojans
3.) Personal Deluxe Protector may display fake security messages
4.) Personal Deluxe Protector may install additional spyware to your computer
5.) Personal Deluxe Protector may repair its files, spread or update by itself
6.) Personal Deluxe Protector violates your privacy and compromises your security
